Thanks for the interesting ideas. I posted a sketch of the hollow sphere on the OP. Dimensions are not correct, but the idea is there. The two tubes on each end are to be welded on after machining is done. Machining will be done on manual lathe and/or mill. The interior surface can be rough machined.

We investigated the effect of ball size and rotation speed on the particle evolution of copper powder during ball milling with DEM simulation.
