Remove the bearing from the crank-shaft and remove the remaining bearing in the same way. Let the engine cool down to room temperature before attempting to work on it. After you're finished modifying the case, re-heat the engine again to 250 F and reinstall the bearings in their original location and orientation.

One thing that we have failed to mention is how the engine gets the fuel into the crank case. On R/C engines, the crank shaft is hollow. This allows the air/fuel mixture that's coming from the carburetor to reach the engine's crank-case where it's fed to the top of the piston through the fuel inlet ports (see illustrations above).

Hello, m79ed, I am using stock HP manifolds on my 69RR, stock exhaust all the way to the oval tail pipe ends. And at 12.5 to 1 C/R in my 451, it doesn't ping or overheat the maniflods. But I run 100 Sunoco. When I un hooked the mufflers at the track, went from 14.23 1/4 mile to a best of 13.76. @ 103MPH.
