Watermills can use energy produced by the flow of water for agriculture processing activities such as milling, grinding, paddy hulling, oil expelling and rice polishing. Although the technology was widespread in the first half of the 20th century, most traditional watermills have been replaced over time by diesel engine driven or electrical mills.
