I was talking to the haas guy while he was servicing our office mill at my work, and he said the motors are actually rated at 15hp, and have a 30hp drive, so the 60hp phase converter is likely overkill despite the machine having the 30hp branding, and the American rotary recommendation of double the horsepower.

The factory battery runs out after about 1.5 years, less if it sits idle. The battery requires a factory service tech to change it. However, if you do it right, you can get a battery back from Machine Tool Services (Haas Repair) in Spokane, Wa. They have a pack that lasts much longer and can be replaced by the user. Much better.

If they replace the mocon board, and that doesn't fix it, then I ain't paying for a mocon board. There is added value there. I hate throwing parts at problems.
